Please describe why you chose NYU Wagner for graduate school?

When looking for graduate programs, I wanted to pursue a school with an interdisciplinary approach. I loved the idea of thought partnering with students from different degree programs and concentrations. Most of all, the course offerings, both required and electives, resonated with my interests and leadership growth areas. NYU allowed me to combine the intersectionality of education, leadership, and business acumen. The courses I completed in organizational strategy and performance management have equipped me with the tools to effectively lead change in my current role.

Please describe what you were doing before you came to NYU Wagner?

Before NYU I worked for Education Pioneers as a Manager for the Learning Program Team. In this role, I led career coaching for Fellows placed in cities across the Northeast and West regions. I facilitated leadership development workshops on diversity, equity, and inclusion, the educational opportunity gap (P-12), and adaptive leadership principles.

Can you tell us a bit about your job responsibilities now?

I am responsible for co-leading a founding elementary school alongside the Head of School. My role consists of problem solving, creating scalable systems and procedures, as well as driving and implementing strategy. As an operations leader, I oversee finance, human resource operations, facilities, food services, emergency preparedness, student data management, communications, school events, and compliance reporting.

Please describe what impact you hope to make through your career and/or organization?

I strive to always be a disrupter of injustice by designing systems and strategies that will improve educational outcomes and create equitable opportunities for all students.
