Why did you choose NYU Wagner for graduate school?
I wanted to combine my interest in management, strategy, and public service in a program that was committed to innovation and impact. Its location and role in the New York community also provided exceptional opportunities to put learning into practice.
How did you find your first post-NYU Wagner job?
I obtained employment at an organization I was providing some consulting to through one of my Wagner projects. I had intentionally picked a Philadelphia organization knowing I had intended to move back there - and that allowed me to start to build a network in a new city and to prove my capabilities before I graduated.
How did your experiences at NYU Wagner prepare you for your career?
I was fortunate enough to have been selected as an NYU Reynolds Fellow, and so I had the opportunity to take the Wagner courses but also enhance my learning through the Reynolds curriculum which included lots of out-of-the box speakers and workshops. Most importantly, however, I'd say I learned the most from my fellow classmates. I felt that those coming into the program were experienced, smart, highly engaged and compassionate people. The group projects, including the capstone, were very impactful as well.
What impact do you hope to make through your career?
I hope to support organizations in developing innovation solutions to complex social problems - and being able to navigate the risk, business development, strategic partnership needs and policy impacts to try new things that can disrupt, change and inform other communities.
