The NYU Global Urban Summit is an annual convening of internal and external NYU stakeholders who are deeply engaged in the challenges, opportunities, issues, policies, and complexities of urban environments all over the world.

It is a one-day, three-part summit that will take place annually, with a new thematic urban focus selected each year. The morning will begin with a series of panel discussions, followed by an afternoon featuring programs/events around NYU’s campus hosted by various schools/departments, and the day will conclude with an urban-focused arts & culture gala that evening.

2025’s proposed theme is “Urban Underground:” physical, metaphorical, theoretical “underground” urban offerings. From underground theater to subway system studies to urban geology, the underground aspect that’s part of cities near and far, old and new will take center stage.
