SEMI Semester New Joiners Welcome
Dear Wagner Students - As you embark on your journey through Wagner, consider joining Students for Ending Mass Incarceration (SEMI) to make a tangible difference in the realm of criminal justice reform. Our group is committed to addressing the systemic issues that contribute to mass incarceration, and your involvement can drive real change. We understand that graduate studies demand a flexible commitment, and SEMI offers just that. You can contribute at a level that fits your schedule, whether through attending meetings, participating in events, or working on specific projects. If interested, we are actively seeking students to take on board roles and/or co-create our goals for the year.
Last year, SEMI achieved progress by advocating for "Ban the Box" language in NYU's school applications. This effort aimed to promote admissions equity for individuals with criminal records, making our campus more inclusive. By joining SEMI, you can continue this work and explore new ways to advance justice reform.
Your skills and ideas can greatly contribute to progress on campus and beyond. We invite you to join this important movement and help us drive meaningful social justice change.
