Armand Biroonak has a decade of CSR experience and is currently the Head of Employee Engagement, Community Impact for UBS Americas where he leads the firm’s employee engagement programs, including strategic grantmaking, employee giving, volunteering, mentoring, and disaster response for its 22,000 employees across 300 cities in the region. In his role, he also drives cross-business initiatives that deliver shared impact such as: community investments, diversity, equity, and inclusion focused programs, and skills-based employee experiences. Prior to joining UBS, he co-developed and managed corporate philanthropic programs at Bloomberg LP including the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa, the company’s signature initiative to train local journalists in the fundamentals of business journalism, build media capacity, and advance access to information across the continent. Prior to that, Armand worked at Echoing Green providing program support to advance the organization’s mission to invest and fund the world’s most promising social entrepreneurs. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History (summa cum laude) from The George Washington University. Armand currently serves as a Professional Mentor with Braven, and is a member of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Volunteers of New York.
