Lieutenant Colonel Jason P. Richter is the Medical Support Squadron Commander and Medical Group Administrator, Aviano Air Base. He leads the medical group’s largest squadron of 143 personnel in eight flights, and is responsible for a $52 million budget that supports 8,400 beneficiaries.
Jason joined the Air Force as a direct commission in 2002, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in business administration and accounting. Since then, he has held various assignments in squadron command, resource management, health plans management, patient administration, and as a professor and deputy program director. He also deployed as a mentor to the Afghan National Police Surgeon General. He was a two-time selection for Air Force Institute of Technology degree programs and has authored 29 publications in leading peer-reviewed healthcare journals.
Jason holds a MBA and MHA from Baylor University and a PhD from Ohio State University.
