Luisa Portugal

Luisa Portugal is a Program Officer at the NYU Center on International Cooperation working with the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies team. She coordinates the Halving Global Violence Task Force, a group of world leaders and experts committed to achieving the SDG16.1 targets for peace by 2030. Prior to joining CIC, Luisa worked in NGOs and the private sector. She was part of the IRC’s Refugee Youth Summer Academy (RYSA), where she implemented and analyzed monitoring and evaluation tools for the program. At NYU, Luisa supported the organization of an international conference on the topic of migration, and she was a writer and podcast host for the NYU Wagner Review. Luisa holds a master’s degree in public policy with a specialization in international development from New York University, and a master’s in constitutional law and bachelor’s in law from Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).
