Melissa Carter is the Senior Director for Global Spiritual Life and the Head of Mindfulness Education and Programming for at New York University, as well as an Adjunct Professor for the Silver School of Social Work and Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Since transitioning from a career as a music executive, Melissa has spent over a decade educating on the intersection of spirituality, social justice, and mindfulness, as well as belonging, self-care, and emotional intelligence as a path to liberation. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from the University of South Florida, an MBA in Media Management from the Metropolitan College of New York, and is currently a doctoral candidate in the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development program in Higher Education Administration with a focus on Chaplaincy and Campus Religious Life.
