Michael Chimowitz is the Associate Director for Policy and Operations Research at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget, where he has worked since 2015. In this role, Michael leads a team of economists and data scientists responsible for designing and executing impact analyses of government programs. His research has examined a broad range of issue areas, including housing, homelessness, health, energy, education, transportation, and quality of life.
Previously, Michael worked as an economic analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Michael received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the Johns Hopkins University and a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs.
