The Citizens’ Committee for Children (CCC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advocating for children in New York City. They are currently embarking on an extensive campaign to increase the affordable housing supply in the City. In preparation for this effort, CCC asked the Capstone team to analyze the federal, state, and city programs that provide affordable housing for low and moderate-income families in New York City and provide recommendations as to which programs are most effective. The Capstone team examined several criteria for the success of a program and evaluated existing programs within this framework. The Capstone team also looked beyond New York to see if other cities had successful, innovative programs that could be replicated. The Capstone team provided CCC with options to develop a strong advocacy position for increasing the affordable housing supply.
