The Capstone team provided the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School with research and recommendations for adding value to the relationship between alumni and the Wagner School by increasing alumni participation in the Center for Management's continuing education offerings. A survey of all alumni living within commuting distance of the school revealed a strong demand for continuing education among alumni. Sixty-six percent of alumni planned to pursue a continuing education course in the future, 43% had taken courses since graduating from the Wagner School, and 43% have access to employer reimbursement. Survey information on course popularity was further refined with information gathered through a benchmarking analysis of the alumni and continuing education programs at five colleges and universities. The Capstone team made a recommendation for two pilot continuing education programs targeted to alumni with a proposed cost-structure, course format and strategies for assuring alumni participation.
