Coler-Goldwater Specialty Hospital and Nursing Facility
The Resident attended various organizational meetings in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of the operations of a long-term care facility and how the facility fit into the HHC system. The resident was involved in two Performance Improvement (PI) projects: An Annual Health Assessment Delinquents/Goal to decrease the number of delinquent employees completing the mandated-by-law Annual Health Assessment and to decrease the length of time these employees remain delinquent; and A Workers' Compensation/Goal to reduce the amount of filed reports and to reduce the length of time lost from work. The resident also participated in the Environment of Care committee and Annual Health Assessment subcommittee that worked on revising policies and procedures and examining trends regarding the two PI projects. In addition to these projects the resident facilitated the Conflict Resolution segment of the monthly New Employee Orientation scheduled by Human Resources and participated in performing Accreditation and Regulatory Auditing of Employee Files for the October/November 2005 JCAHO Audit.
