United Jewish Organizations of Brooklyn (UJO) has been addressing the human service needs of Brooklyn’s Jewish community since 1967. Since scarce data is available which describes the health care needs of the Chassidic community in South Williamsburg, UJO requested a Capstone team to assist it in developing a community health needs assessment. To obtain this information for UJO, the Capstone team gathered anecdotal information and service provider data and information from a community health survey the team designed to provide UJO with concrete information on the health care needs, currently available services, and service gaps for the Chassidic community. The information was compiled in a report that the UJO will use to better address the health care needs of the more than 50,000 Chassidim it serves in South Williamsburg.
