MIC is a service division of Medical & Health Research Association of New York City, Inc. (MHRA) and provides women’s health services to a medically under served population in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan. The Capstone team was asked to develop a patient satisfaction survey tool for use by all eight centers that comprise MIC-Women’s Health Services. The Capstone team interviewed key personnel at each location in order to understand the issues each site was interested in measuring and then engaged in a literature review. Surveys that reflect language sensitivity (i.e., Spanish) were created to measure patient perception on the following key issues: medical care, hospital affiliation, access/wait time, and general concerns (i.e., courtesy of medical staff). The Capstone team conducted a pilot-study utilizing the new survey tool at three of the MIC-Centers located in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan.
