Harlem Hospital Center

At Columbia Affiliation, Harlem Hospital Center, the resident had the opportunity to observe several departments and worked primarily in Faculty Practice and the Medicine Clinic. One of the resident’s major projects involved the Advanced Access Initiative. Harlem’s Medicine Clinic is piloting this collaborative with the hopes that, if successful, patients will be able to receive an appointment with their primary care provider within the same day, or one to two days, that the appointment is desired. The resident was a member of the interdisciplinary team that worked on strategies to reduce the appointment wait time. Her primary functions included data collection, tracking, analysis, and reporting.
