Health Plus
Under the supervision of the Director of Regulatory Affairs, the Resident analyzed local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, and drafted policies and procedures to ensure compliance with these requirements. The Resident also compiled Quarterly Board Reports and Monthly Enrollment Reports for the Executive Director. The Resident managed various projects within the Department of Regulatory Affairs, including an independent privacy audit to track Health Plus’s compliance efforts with the HIPAA Privacy Rule. Another project involved reviewing medical records and collecting HEDIS measures for QARR, a New York State reporting system used to measure HMO quality. Collaborating with the Department of Health Education and Community Outreach, the Resident evaluated Project Immunize, a targeted outreach program that encouraged appropriate utilization of services among children enrolled in Medicaid. The evaluation involved collecting and analyzing qualitative data from program participants and claims data to determine whether the intervention had an effect on participants’ utilization of preventative and primary care services. In addition, the Resident coordinated HealthPlus’s Employee Wellness Committee.
