Implementing Youth Development Outcomes within Not-for-Profit Agencies in New York City

The Capstone Team has worked with the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) to identify strategies, challenges and benefits of developing and implementing a youth development outcomes tracking system. The Capstone team performed a literature review examining the trends in youth development outcomes and best practices among youth development providers and experts in the field. The Capstone team interviewed agencies contracted with DYCD to determine the types of challenges and benefits that exist for the development and implementation of youth development outcome tracking system. Through exploring the implementation of youth development outcomes tracking as applied to best practices, the team made recommendations to DYCD regarding implementation of youth development outcome tracking methods for the agency’s currently funded youth programs.
