The Resident divided her residency between the Administration Department and Bronx Health REACH, a CDC funded initiative to eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities in the Southwest Bronx. In Administration, the Resident was responsible for developing Continuous Quality Improvement Plans for six non-clinical departments, establishing an initial list of metrics for a Dashboard Project, and performing a cost-analysis study of the electronic medical record. During the JCAHO survey, the Resident developed a hazardous vulnerability analysis. With REACH, the Resident drafted a monograph booklet profiling NYC’s separate and unequal systems of care for the Action Committee and assisted with implementation design, reached out to faith-based organizations, and drafted progress reports for the Diabetes Prevention and Control Program. The Resident was involved with three grant submissions for the Planning and Development Department. The Resident also helped organize a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues,” which strives to end violence against women.
