Lutheran Medical Center

The Resident was involved in many ongoing and new projects focusing on quality and safety issues in both operational and clinical settings. As Lutheran Medical Center (LMC) looked to enhance health-care, major changes developed through-out the organization. As the residency experience began, the Resident quickly learned that a primary area of concentration was the Pharmacy Department. A significant transformation was on the rise and with dedication on the forefront, LMC looked to experts to assist with this new project. The Resident was immediately involved with this expert team in planning, developing, and brainstorming ways to improve the quality and safety of the medications provided, services extended, and patients served. A major project that the Resident spent time on was improving the system of faxing medication orders -examining and streamlining a process that significantly impacted and improved patient care.
