Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens

The Resident was involved in a number of projects originating from the office of the Chief Operating Officer. The Resident played a key role in the preparation and analysis of the annual budgets for various operations departments including Radiology, Central Services, Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology. The Resident served as Project Manager for the introduction and implementation of Endoscopy software from CORI (Clinical Outcomes Research Initiative). The software allows for the rapid generation of reports by the Endoscopist and will also provide the Endoscopist with access to a national database that can be used for research and benchmarking. The Resident also coordinated a GE-lead Six-Sigma performance improvement project for the Ultrasound Department. In addition, the resident was responsible for updating and maintaining statistical indicators (financial, operational, clinical and satisfaction) for the monthly Executive Report Card, assisting the executive staff with the development of a hospital-wide report card and developing and utilizing a project-tracking tool for the streamlining of open projects.
