Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens
The Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens, a 235-bed community hospital was purchased by Mount Sinai Hospital in June 1999. The resident had the opportunity to collaborate directly with the Chief Operating Officer of the hospital on a variety of projects. The resident was involved in generating the monthly Hospital Report Card that included financial, operational, clinical, and satisfaction indicators. The resident also conducted an extensive DRG/Case-Mix Variance Analysis that was presented to the Executive Staff. Other resident projects included creating and updating the Annual Operations Report by monitoring department activities, organizing a two-day physician retreat, and developing a proposal to redesign the hospital Safety Committee to address environment of care and clinical care issues.
