The mission of the New York City Partnership and Chamber of Commerce is to create the business environment necessary to sustain a vibrant economy in the five boroughs of New York City. In the aftermath of September 11th, the Partnership charged the Capstone team with assessing Chinatown’s needs generally and its restaurateurs specifically. The Capstone team determined a baseline of activity within Chinatown’s restaurant industry and identified factors specific to Chinatown. Based on extensive research, the Capstone team was able to compare the Chinatown restaurant industry before and after September 11th. This analysis allowed the Capstone team to identify the needs of the Chinatown restaurant industry. The Capstone team provided a set of recommendations to the Partnership that would address the needs of the Chinatown restaurant industry.
