Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers–St. Vincent’s Hospital, Manhattan

The administrative residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Manhattan, is a project-based experience designed to expose the resident to key areas in hospital operations and administration. The projects ultimately involve identifying and implementing opportunities for better serving the patient population within the community. The resident’s commitments spanned several strategic foci of the hospital, including: the Asian Initiative, a long-term, hospitalwide effort to improve access and quality of care to the hospital’s large and growing Asian patient base; renovation and expansion of St. Vincent’s Level 1 Trauma Center; and process and outcome improvements in the revenue cycle. Working closely with administrators and clinicians, the resident engaged in strategic planning, performed financial analysis, constructed business plans, and composed grants for these and other projects.
