The Don’t Laugh at Me (DLAM) Project was founded in 1999 to create and disseminate educational programs designed to promote respect, compassion, understanding and tolerance among school-age children. The Capstone team was asked to research existing professional development and dissemination models within social, emotional learning and character education programs to provide DLAM guidance in the best way to disseminate its educational curriculum. The Capstone team’s objective was to determine what models would be the most appropriate and effective for DLAM’s unique, music based curriculum. Additionally, the Capstone team surveyed the distance learning market, on-line education initiatives and collaborated with DLAM partners to provide a strategic approach for the development of the DLAM on-line community and distance learning program.
