Covenant House New York (CHNY) is a supportive housing and human services provider dedicated to helping homeless youth transition back to independent living. The Capstone team undertook a series of activities to help CHNY improve its transitional living services and position itself to capitalize on new opportunities for supportive housing providers in New York. These activities included: surveying former clients of its Rights of Passage program to assess the value of existing CHNY transitional services and recommend program improvements; conducting an environmental scan of supportive housing and transitional living service providers in NYC to identify potential new partners or program opportunities; researching upcoming opportunities for CHNY to participate in the Department of Housing and Urban Development Opening Doors initiative to eradicate youth homelessness by 2020; and exploring new funding opportunities for CHNY to build capacity and improve programs.
