Value Chain Analysis and Food Security

Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) is the international relief and development agency of the Episcopal Church of the United States. The global food crisis has highlighted the need for the international community to address food insecurity in developing countries, and the Capstone team conducted a value chain analysis of ERD's food security programs in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. While food secu­rity was the primary focus, the team also considered the intersection between gen­der and inequality. The Capstone team produced a report offering recommenda­tions on how to improve programs and incorporate value chain analysis in part­nership with local organizations while adhering to ERD's global organizational strategy.
