Web Site Expansion and Redesign

The NYC Department of Health (DOH) is undertaking an expansion and redesign of its web site. The site is one of the City’s largest and most visited web sites, with new information being posted frequently. It is a vital communications tool for the DOH, allowing individuals access to public health information 24/7. The Capstone team created a user survey designed to gather information on user preferences and suggested site improvements. Additionally, the Capstone team researched other public health and health-related sites, and evaluated them for usability, information architecture, navigation, and site maintenance. From this research, the Capstone team identified outstanding sites and features for the DOH to consider for its revised site. Finally, the Capstone team created a web marketing campaign was created to drive traffic to the site through postings on other web sites.
