FAQs: Tuition and Scholarships

Back to FAQs Search

Are merit-based scholarships available?

Yes, the program has limited fellowship and scholarship resources.  Around 20% of the incoming class will receive merit-based aid. We assess all applications for merit-based scholarships. Our fellowships do require a separate essay in the application. Learn more on our financial aid page.

What is the application process for a merit-based scholarship?

You should complete the application process as early as possible (by the first deadline). As long as all required materials are received and an application package is deemed complete, you will be given priority consideration for all available merit-based scholarships (and fellowships).

How can I pay my tuition deposit?

To pay your tuition deposit, you must first accept your NYU offer of admission.

To do so, please take the following actions:

1. Activate your NYU Net ID and account by visiting the following start page and following the instructions.

Does NYU Wagner offer financial aid?

Am I eligible for the Goldberg Fellowship?

If you are pursuing full-time enrollment in the MUP or MPA programs, then you are eligible. You will be considered if you submit the additional fellowship essay (in "Financial Aid" section of application) along with your full application by the fellowship deadline.

I applied to NYU Wagner, when will I know about any scholarships that I may receive?

You will receive information about any award you receive when we send out decision letters in March. These scholarships are the only awards Wagner coordinates and provides to students.

NYU encourages you to research graduate student scholarship opportunities in your local community, as that is sometimes a good source of additional funding.
