HPD Taps NYU Wagner Graduate to Head New Division of Performance Management and Analytics

A graduate of NYU Wagner has been chosen to head a newly established Division of Performance Management and Analytics (PMA) at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). In this position, Meryl Block Weissman, who joined HPD after earning her Masters of Urban Planning (MUP) at Wagner in 2003, will provide timely, comprehensive data to help the agency make informed decisions.

For the past four years, Ms. Weissman served as HPD's Executive Director of Analytics and Operations, leading a team responsible for the collection, use, and analysis of data, and informing decision-making on resource allocation, program design, and legislative mandates. She played a key role in developing technology-driven operations and performance measurements for Hurricane Sandy disaster recovery housing assistance and implementing data solutions for complex housing development projects.

She has also served as Chief of Staff of HPD’s Office of Housing Operations, with program development and assessment responsibilities related to the agency’s Section 8, Alternative Management, Property Management, and Architecture, Construction, and Engineering operations.
