Paul Light and Paul Volcker Explore Federal Government "Breakdowns"

Paul C. Light

Paulette Goddard Professor of Public Service Paul Light of NYU Wagner released on December 11 an issue paper he wrote on the “cascade” of Federal government breakdowns and what can be done about it. He appeared with former Federal Reserve Board Chairman Paul Volcker at the National Press Club to discuss the main points and build the case for pattern-breaking reforms.

Published by the Volcker Alliance, the paper was based on a lecture that Professor Light delivered in San Francisco in September on the occasion of his receiving the 2015 John Gaus Award and Lectureship from the American Political Science Association (APSA). The award recognizes exemplary scholarship in the joint tradition of political science and public administration.
