Professor Rae Zimmerman Appointed to Third NYC Panel on Climate Change

Rae Zimmerman, Professor of Planning and Public Administration at NYU Wagner, has been appointed to the third New York City Panel on Climate Change, an independent entity advising the city that ensures that the city's resiliency efforts are informed by the best available climate science and public policy research. According to Mayor Bill de Blasio's June 30 announcement, NPCC3 will "build on previous NPCC reports, and will look at climate risks through the lens of inequality at a neighborhood scale." It will also "focus on ways to enhance coordination of mitigation and resiliency across the entire New York metropolitan region."

Professor Zimmerman returns after serving as a member of the first NPCC in 2010. She is Director of NYU Wagner's Institute for Civil Infrastructure Systems (ICIS), a center for collaborative and interdisciplinary research, education, and outreach on infrastructure services.
