Annual Culture Day Features Diverse Student Body
The Wagner International Student Society (WISS) hosted its annual Culture Day on November 20 to celebrate the rich cultural diversity within the NYU Wagner student body. The event was co-sponsored by fellow student groups WSA, PASA, WSAFA, ALAS, IPSA, SCJR, and WagnerTech. More than 75 participants were exposed to diverse cultures from around the globe, reflected in dance, music, and food. The event created a stage for students to share their culture with others, as a way to inspire greater cross-cultural sharing and learning.
The event kicked off with a brief introduction to traditional food prepared by students from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Following that were dance performances featuring Chinese, Latin, Indian classical, and modern ‘’Bollywood’’ themes, singing, and musical performances. Culture Day also featured a costume competition of traditional cultural attire, a quiz competition, and a dance party.
