Honoring Wagner's Capstone work with The Arthur Project
NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service is pleased to celebrate the outstanding collaboration between NYU Wagner's Capstone Program and The Arthur Project (TAP), whose team of Advocacy students was honored with this year’s Howard Newman Award for Teamwork. TAP, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing professional mentorship to middle schoolers in the Bronx, engaged the Capstone team to address the pressing issue of the School-to-Prison Pipeline (STPP). Through a comprehensive literature review and interviews with peer organizations, the Capstone team developed an advocacy plan, offering TAP tangible recommendations on programming, organizational structure, and evaluation metrics for the abolition of STPP. In the words of the client, "the work is excellent and will move our organization forward in ways we could not without this team." Congrats to Todd Baker, Deborah Denis, Charmaine Gentles, and Haley Qualls!
