Judy Pryor-Ramirez Named NYU Assessment Seed Grant Awardee

Judy Pryor-Ramirez

NYU Wagner Clinical Associate Professor and Executive MPA (EMPA) Program Director Judy Pryor-Ramirez has been awarded a 2024 Assessment Seed Grant from the NYU Office of Academic Program Review and Assessment. The $1,500 grant will support her innovative project to strengthen assessment infrastructure within the EMPA program.

The project will support the development of three key assessment tools to strengthen the EMPA program’s long-term evaluation practices: a values-based Leadership Framework outlining core leadership competencies, a curriculum map aligning course content with school-wide learning objectives and the program’s revised mission, and a program-level rubric to consistently measure learning outcomes across courses.

The grant funding will enable the hiring of a graduate student to support syllabus analysis and course content mapping. In addition, it will facilitate collaborative working sessions with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and broad input into the design of each tool.

By laying this groundwork, the EMPA program aims to strengthen its ability to assess and improve student learning, foster leadership development, and align with the school’s broader goals of academic excellence and student success.
