Meera Joshi, former NYU Rudin Center Visiting Scholar, Named Deputy Mayor for Operations
Congratulations to Meera Joshi, former Visiting Scholar at the NYU Rudin Center for Transportation, on being appointed New York City’s incoming Deputy Mayor for Operations.
During her time at the NYU Rudin Center, Deputy Mayor Joshi led the study, “E-Hail Regulation in Global Cities,” which describes the current and future regulatory strategies of 13 international cities for e-hail services.
In 2020, she co-led the study “Transportation During Coronavirus in New York City,” a landmark study of the COVID-19 pandemic’s transformation of mobility in, through and around New York City.
She went on to serve as the Deputy Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, a division of the U.S. Department of Transportation under President Joe Biden.
