Student Spotlight: Alex Krasikow (MHA 2024)
What motivated you to attend the Wagner School of Public Service?
The Online MHA program is fully online which allowed me to continue work at my job and pursue my goals. The distinguished faculty and small classes only helped reinforce my decision to attend Wagner School of Public Service.
How has the MHA program enhanced your understanding of the health field?
The MHA program helped me realize the inner complexities within healthcare. While there are many healthcare issues that may seem easy to alleviate, there are many more stakeholders that will try to oppose any changes you make. As healthcare costs continue to grow we must continue to innovate, and it’s our responsibility to do so.
Can you share a bit about your professional experiences in health or healthcare, and how you hope to support the larger health ecosystem?
Personally, I am an IT manager in the home care field. I hope to one day increase the efficiency of healthcare, allowing for the smooth transfer of EMR data across all health systems with minimal expenditure.
What advice would you give to future MHA students, either academically or professionally?
One advantage of the online MHA program is the experienced and well connected faculty. Make friends with them! They are here to help, and as an administrator it is important to network. A strong network is important in achieving your professional goals.
