City and State released The 2024 Transportation Power 100, acknowledging the leaders in the field of transportation across the metropolitan area and the entire state of New York.

This year’s list included a pair of honorees from the NYU Wagner community:

  • Sarah Kaufman, director, NYU Rudin Center of Transportation and Assistant Clinical Professor of Public Service. Under Kaufman's leadership, the Rudin Center recently released a report on how the plan for congestion pricing would impact the funding of accessibility improvements within the mass transit system. In addition to her role at NYU, Kaufman also serves as a commissioner on the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission. Kaufman also appeared on last year’s list and moved up two spots this year to No. 49.

  • Quemuel Arroyo (MPA-PNP 2020), chief accessibility officer, Metropolitan Transportation Association. The first to hold his title with the MTA, Arroyo has also been working to make the transit system more accessible for people with disabilities, also noting that congestion pricing would provide crucial funding for these projects.
