NYC Health + Hospitals Leader Gives Keynote at Healthcare Policy Conference at NYU Wagner
Dr. Ram Raju, CEO and president, NYC Health + Hospitals, delivered the keynote talk at a meeting of health officials of Montreal and New York City – held at NYU Wagner on March 11. The full-day invitational gathering, “Access to Health Service and Care Coordination in New York and Montreal,” considered common challenges the two cities face for their respective healthcare systems.
Cosponsored by the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University, McGill University School of Public Service, and Rutgers University School of Public Health, the meeting's special guest Dr. Raju was introduced by Wagner’s Victor Rodwin, Professor of Health Policy and Management and Co-Director (with Michael K. Gusmano) of the World Cities Project, a joint venture of Wagner/NYU, the Hastings Center, and the Butler Columbia Aging Center.
The conference grew out a grant that Professor Rodwin received from the Québec Délégation Générale, New York, supporting his comparative research on health care systems in major cities of the world.
