NYU Wagner student is an “American Dreamer” – and describes her rise in New York Times.
The New York Times editorial board has called for the gathering Trump administration to preserve Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), a program that temporarily shields some young immigrants from deportation and allows them to work legally.
The newspaper is featuring stories from immigrants who were spared from deportation and permitted to work during the Obama administration – among them NYU Wagner’s Anabel L. Pérez (MPA 2018).
"My work," she writes, "thus far in the immigrant community has inspired me to attend graduate school in order to become an effective advocate for immigrants and the many issues they face on a daily basis, especially those who are undocumented.”
Don’t miss her inspiring story in its entirety.
