Addressing the Tech Revolution: Social Change and Philanthropy
Technological innovation promises to improve the way we connect, interact, and exist. From cybersecurity and net neutrality to job automation and artificial intelligence, the digital revolution has very real social and ethical implications. This panel discussion will bring together expert practitioners in philanthropy working at the intersection of technology and society to discuss how the public and social sectors can address the challenges of technological innovation. Panelists Thea Charles, Head of Knowledge and Social Impact at Siegel Family Endowment; Michelle Shevin, Technology Fellow - Internet Freedom at the Ford Foundation; Victoria Olani-Oyaniran, CEO at US African Immigrants Gist; and KT Gillett, Program Manager, Community Engagement at the Robin Hood Foundation will draw on their own work and experience to discuss current work in this space, as well as the future of 21st-century giving in the digital age.
