U.S. Policy & Governance 101

All students coming to Wagner will be expected to have a good understanding of U.S. policy. If you are unfamiliar with the U.S. system of government or need a refresher on a few things, then join us for this discussion-based conversation with Professor John Gershman.
Professor Gershman will provide a quick overview of the three branches of government including but not limited to:
- How power is distributed at the state, local, and federal level;
- How budgeting works;
- Useful news sources and how to identify bias in reporting;
- Tips and tricks for your policy courses including CORE-GP 1022 Introduction to Public Policy
