Professor Julia Lane is Selected for US Labor Department Advisory Council
NYU Wagner is pleased to shine a light on Professor Julia Lane's newly announced appointment by Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su to the U.S. Labor Department's Workforce Information Advisory Council. The council's purpose is to provide recommendations on the evaluation and improvement of the nationwide workforce and labor market information system and statewide systems that comprise is, and on how the department and states will cooperate in the management of those systems.
Since its creation in 2021, Dr. Lane also has been a member of another federal task working group—the National AI Research (NAIRR) Task Force, which works on developing a road map for expanding access to critical resources and educational tools that will spur Artificial Intelligence innovation and economic prosperity nationwide.
Professor Lane is an an economist and economic statistician at New York University's Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, as well as NYU's Center for Urban Science and Progress.
