The Outside Counsel Contingency-Fee Model for Workers' Rights Enforcement
A new white paper co-issued by Terri Gerstien of the NYU Wagner Labor Initiative, and the National Institute of Workers' Rights explores a model in which state and local government agencies contract with public interest or private law firms to bring worker' rights enforcement actions as outside counsel on a contingency-fee basis.

A trained chef and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Janani spent years in New York City’s high-volume kitchens before pivoting to policy.

Lia Clark is a second-year MUP student focusing on the intersections of housing policy, public health, and environmental justice. Her commitment to the built environment began in her hometown in Vermont, where she served as a Student Planning Commissioner and later as an Assistant Planner for the Town of Rockingham.
NYU Wagner Capstone Team works with alumna to improve education in Nicaragua coffee fields
NYU Wagner alumna Kristin Van Busum founded Project Alianza, which provides educational opportunities for children at risk of child labor in rural coffee communities, and she enlisted a Capstone team to help figure out how to expand the organization's reach.
