Yes, the EMPA for Public Service Leaders offers a schedule option that allows students to complete the program on Saturday only and in less than one year. Courses are offered during the day on Saturday, beginning at 9am. Students complete the program in less than one year, taking courses each Saturday for 28 weeks (September – May).

Upon entry into the program, students craft an individual learning plan and engage with the program's faculty and administrative advisors to review their academic and professional goals and begin to map out their plan of study. These individuals remain your advisors throughout the program and assist with course selection and course registration matters;
Yes, EMPA students may take elective courses at various NYU graduate programs.

Thirty credits are required for graduation. Twelve of those credits are required leadership and financial management courses.

The program is designed for professionals who have a minimum of seven (7) years of work experience, with increasingly progressive management and leadership responsibility.
The EMPA is a cohort-based program where students take their required leadership courses together. There are approximately 20-35 students in a cohort, enabling faculty and advisors to create a tailored experience for students in the program.
