Yes! Relevant graduate credits earned prior to matriculation at Wagner can be applied to your Wagner degree if they meet the criteria outlined in our transfer credit policy and they are not restricted by your program.
As a full-time student, you can complete the degree in two years. Part-time students generally take 3-4 years. There is much flexibility to move from full-time to part-time on a semester by semester basis as it fits your schedule.
Wagner students are required to complete all degree requirements within the specified time of initial enrollment (masters students within five years; doctoral students within seven years).
MPA and MUP students are required to choose their specialization during the semester in which they complete their 12th credit. For full-time students, this is their first semester and for part-time students, it is usually their second semester.
Most courses are held in the early evening (4:55pm and 6:45pm) with some degree core course sections offered during the day. Some electives or sections of electives are offered on an intensive basis on Fridays or Saturdays.
You must complete 45 credits. Most full-time students take 12 credits per semester. Most part-time students take 6 credits per semester. You can also take January term and summer term courses.
Students may have the opportunity to work with faculty through research projects or as a graduate assistant.
Yes! You may change your enrollment status from full-time to part-time, or vice versa, without notifying the University.
