BA-MPA and BA-MUP with Gallatin School of Individualized Study
Students at the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study are already steeped in multi-disciplinary study and thinking big. If you’re a Gallatin student, then NYU Wagner has a challenge for you: join us for our BA-MPA or BA-MUP program in collaboration with NYU Gallatin.
Pursuing graduate study with us means you’ll get to funnel your undergraduate explorations directly into a professionally-focused Master’s degree. You’ll study the intersection of ideas, needs, and the greater good and learn how to translate your philosophies into actions—and impact.
Admission to the dual-degree program is open to Gallatin students who have completed 72 credits toward their BA degree and have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Interested? Submit the Pre-Application to the Gallatin Office of Advising for consideration.

Curriculum
On the BA-MPA and BA-MUP tracks, you can complete up to 21 credits toward the 45 credit graduate degree while you are still an undergraduate student. This can include both undergraduate course equivalents (see below) and graduate coursework.
If you complete the maximum 21 credits during your undergraduate career and take a prescribed sequence of coursework in consultation with an advisor, you can finish the MPA or MUP degree in one additional full-time year.
If you complete fewer than 21 credits, you will need two years to finish the graduate degree at Wagner. Alternatively, you can make part-time progress toward your degree over up to five years which also gives you access to Wagner resources over a longer period as you begin your career. (Whichever path you are on, you will still save on tuition costs on the Bachelor’s-Masters’ track by completing graduate credits during your undergraduate degree.)

Applying to Wagner
If you’re accepted onto the BA-MPA or BA-MUP track, you are not automatically admitted to the corresponding Wagner graduate program. You must complete the graduate application in your final undergraduate year at the end of the fall semester.

Financial Aid
Pursuing a graduate degree is an investment in the future and a serious commitment of time and money. All Bachelor’s-Master’s track applicants will be considered for scholarships and funding to help you finance your degree. In the graduate application, you can also opt to be considered for the Georgina and Charlotte Bloomberg Public Service Fellows Program, a full-tuition scholarship opportunity.
