Sophia Temis

MPA-Health

Sophia Temis is a full-time Management student in the MPA Health Policy and Management Program heading into her fourth semester at Wagner. Born in Russia but raised in Brooklyn since the age of two, Sophia choose to stay in NYC and attend Hunter College for her Bachelors Degree. While attending college, she worked as the office manager for a mid-size Ambulatory Surgical Center with multiple locations in NYC. After graduating with a BA in Psychology and a concentration in Neuroscience, she went to work for a law firm specializing in mass tort litigation, specifically working on representing plaintiffs in lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies for drug-related injuries. Having multiple interests and skills, Sophia felt that an MPA would bring her closer to uncovering her niche. Sophia plans to attend law school after graduating from Wagner in May 2017 and has already applied to schools for the 2017 school year. She hopes to use both degrees to work for a government organization, such as the FDA, in a position that deals with regulatory affairs and public interest law. At Wagner, Sophia is the Co-Chair of the Wagner Policy Alliance and the Community Outreach Chair for the Students for Criminal Justice Reform, occupying both positions since October 2015.

NYU Wagner is home to the Gallery Space at Wagner.
