WSA Committees

Opportunities to get involved

The Wagner Student Association (WSA) has many ways for new and continuing students to get involved! Take a look at some of our exciting committees below.

Constitution Review Committee

Help us shape how WSA governs by being an active part of the Constitution Review Committee. Members will help decide changes, along with WSA e-board members, and disseminate the suggested changes to the rest of the student body. All suggested amendments must be voted upon by the Wagner student body at large.

Elections Committee

Be an active participant in the democratic process! Help organize the elections for next year's WSA committee and help make policy for Wagner elections at large.

Events Committee

Chaired by the Vice President of Events & Operations, the Events Committee is responsible for all community-building programming, events, and initiatives. In the past, this has included the Winter Social, Wagner Gala, and All-University Games. In a mostly-remote environment, programming may be more frequent, informal, and/or virtual (e.g., coordinating socially-distant neighborhood group meetups, virtual game nights).

WagnerCares

WagnerCares seeks to strengthen the connection between public service and volunteerism by providing meaningful volunteer opportunities and community engagement for the Wagner community. As a committee of WSA, we strive to add value to the WSA and Wagner community through community engagement vehicles and actualize student interests through these activities.

The committee provides various volunteer opportunities throughout the year with a cornerstone Day of Service in the Spring semester that engages over 100 Wagner community members across the city. Past volunteer activities have included planting trees along the Gowanus canal, cleaning up NYC parks, and delivering meals to homebound seniors. WagnerCares also runs a winter coat and canned food drive every November.

There are many ways to get involved with WagnerCares! We are currently looking for committee members who are dedicated to building community through volunteerism and other engagement opportunities. Committee members work together to source and execute volunteer activities, coordinate coat and food drives, and plan the annual Day of Service. If you are interested in joining the committee, please fill out the brief application and reach out to the co-chairs with any questions.

Wagner Diversity Council

Guided by Wagner's values of inclusion, diversity, belonging and equity, the NYU Wagner Diversity Council (WDC) engages and holds our community accountable to ensure that all students feel welcome and supported by this institution. WDC is committed to intentional discourse, practice, and action around diversity and inclusion in all its facets within our institutional, academic, and social community.

Each semester, WDC hosts conversations that explore the intersection of social identities with public service in practice. The WDC Executive Board also partners with Wagner faculty and administrators around ongoing curriculum review and initiatives to build a more inclusive campus community.

Members of WDC meet monthly to discuss ongoing projects and priorities; new members are always welcome! Sign up for our newsletter at http://eepurl.com/hGUIg9 or follow us on Instagram @wagnerdiversitycouncil.
