WSA Committees and Open Positions
Opportunities to get involved
The Wagner Student Association (WSA) has many ways for new and continuing students to get involved! Take a look at some of our exciting committees below.
Wagner Diversity Council
As a special committee of the Wagner Student Association, the Wagner Diversity Council (WDC) is committed to intentional discourse, practice, and action around diversity and inclusion in all its facets within our institutional, academic, and social community.
Wagner Variety Show Committee
Wagnerds Got Talent! Since its inception in 2009, the Wagner Variety Show has provided a unique forum for NYU Wagner community building. The show offers a venue for Wagner students, faculty, and staff to showcase sides of themselves that might otherwise remain unknown. The Variety Show Committee will review our in-house talent and plan the show from start to finish. The Wagner Variety Show is held annually on the first Friday in December.
Do you like sports? Are you proud to be a BobCat? Be part of the Wagner sports team and join the intramurals committee. We'll energize the Wagner community to compete in seven different sports leagues, from bowling to basketball.
Wagner All-University Games Committee
Wagner students compete against students from other NYU schools in the annual All-University Games. Friendly competitions include tug-of-war, foosball, limbo, and rocks-paper-scissors. Let's make sure Wagner takes home the gold in this year's University Games!
The Wagner Cares Committee consists of Wagner community members who are committed to volunteering in New York City. This year's committee will oversee the school-wide Day of Service in mid-April, as well as a series of smaller service days throughout the year.
Wagner Gala Committee
Help plan a Wagner end-of-year celebration. The Gala creates a shared experience for all Wagner students to enjoy the closing of the school year—not to mention a swell way to tip our hats to our soon-to-be graduates. Participants in this committee will pick a venue and plan the event from beginning to end (including a theme).
Alternate-Senator, Wagner Student Association/NYU Student Senators Council
The Alternate-Senator is a General Non-Voting Member of the Wagner Student Association and a non-voting member of the NYU Student Senators Council. The Alternate-Senator attends bi-weekly Student Senators Council Meetings as needed as well as all University Senate Meetings, working under the WSA Senator (Wagner representative to University-wide programs). These meetings occur during business hours on Thursdays, thus the Alternate Senator must be available Thursday afternoon until 6:45. The responsibilities include attending these meetings, WSA General Meetings, WSA Board meetings as needed, and acting as an additional liaison for the Wagner community to the greater NYU community.
Be an active participant in the democratic process! Help organize the elections for next year's WSA committee and help make policy for Wagner elections at large.
