Pre-Arrival
Now that you've been admitted to NYU, learn how to obtain the right visa, plan your trip, and review further resources to help get you prepared for your arrival in New York.
The Office of Global Services (OGS) provides comprehensive information and advising on the process of getting a Visa and I-20 for your studies at Wagner. Review this information to ensure you have taken all of the necessary steps to prepare for your arrival to New York.
- You may see an advisor without an appointment during drop-in hours. Drop-in hours are available at both the Manhattan and Brooklyn Campus.
- If you can't make it to the OGS office in-person, and need to speak to an advisor one-on-one, you can schedule an online appointment.
- If you need to make an appointment for a more extensive advising session, you can reach out to them at (212) 998-4720 or through their contact request form and request an appointment with an advisor.

We use the phrase Orientation Over Time to describe our approach to welcoming new students into the Wagner community. We see orientation as a series of activities and resources designed to build on each other and prepare you for your first term at Wagner. We want your transition to Wagner to be as smooth as possible, so we provide you with all the details necessary to help you get the best possible start to your graduate school journey.

GETTING STARTED GUIDE
The Getting Started Guide is the first step in the Orientation Over Time process. You should work through it carefully and thoroughly as soon as you receive it. The guide covers everything you need to know in order to register for classes, pursue course waivers, prepare for core quantitative courses, participate in mandatory orientation activities, and meet critical deadlines before the term begins. The guide also explains the rest of the Orientation Over Time process.
All international students are required to complete the US Immigration and Requirements Training webinar before arriving in the US.
