Displaced Migrants Action Group

MISSION

The Displaced Migrants Action Group provides a space for students interested in displaced migration policy and practice to collaborate, share ideas, and innovate on new approaches to the multifaceted challenges facing people who are forced from their homes. DMAG is dedicated to inviting a range of perspectives to bridge gaps between theory and practice, creating a platform that addresses immediate challenges in the involuntary migration landscape and envisions long-term, equitable outcomes. The DMAG’s position within the NYU Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service enables it to focus not only on the development and implementation of policy, but also on the impact and human experience of those policies. By empowering students to think about forced migration in new ways and challenging traditional approaches to migration policy, the DMAG aims to be a catalyst for positive impact in this space, advocating for inclusive policies and empowering migrants on their journey toward social and economic justice. DMAG is open to all students, allies, and those interested in learning more about these topics. Their events are open to the entire NYU and Wagner community.
